The Citation Ultra is a major upgrade from the Citation V. It sports a Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics suite, Pratt & Whitney JT15D-5D turbofans for more efficient thrust and a cruise speed of 450 mph. The Citation Ultra also comes with a variety of amenities, including partial galley, an enclosed lavatory with a seatbelt, and adjustable leather seating. You can even bring pets onboard!
The Citation Ultra upholds the Citation line's tradition of simple design in several ways. It is one of the faster jets from Denver, and it owes that to both its engines and, more importantly, its wing design. It is the brainchild of aerodynamicists from Cessna and NASA. A level upper surface has resulted in improved air flow distribution, reduced drag, and an increase in cruise speed. This wing design would become the new standard for Citation jets.
That simplicity also carries over to the jet's avionics. The Honeywell Primus 1000 suite consolidates information into four screens placed near the relevant controls, allowing for better pilot performance and hand-eye coordination.
